![]() It’s been a whirlwind and I look forward to not only using the skills I’ve picked up but also to seeing the exciting activities, resources and events planned for the upcoming Festival of Archaeology.Īmelie's resources will be made available during this year's Festival of Archaeology, which explores the theme of creativity in archaeology. However, Cher and Sonny’s marriage didn’t last, as she filed for divorce from him in 1974. I found it furthered my understanding of youth leadership and empowerment in the heritage sector and allowed me space to explore, within an industry group, ideas on how and why we want to widen youth engagement.ĭespite having only 20 hours (3 days) I’ve done so much and I’ve learnt a lot from this placement – especially from Jo and Rachel. In 1969, they welcomed their child, Chaz Bono. It was a really interesting and informative session on how to increase youth engagement and participation in organisations. I finished the placement off by attending a session run by the CBA on Youth Participation. It was really cool to go through everything with Rachel and see what we can do to make these activities look as amazing as possible. I’m really excited to see not only the resources I designed but also the entire pack go live in a few months!Īfter designing a resource, I also got the opportunity to familiarise myself with Canva. I had so much fun with this, not only designing and testing fun activities but also thinking about where they are going to be used and how to make sure young people get the most out of them. For this we looked to the upcoming Festival of Archaeology and I got to flex my creative skills in creating two activities for a YAC resource pack – similar to the Journeys one last year. It’s been amazing diving into the world of YAC online resources, trying my hand at some of the activities, as well as just exploring the website and resources. The online aspect also drew me to the placement as Covid showed how important it is for people to be able to access archaeology from home. The placement forms part of a module on Public Engagement and Communicating Heritage, so I wanted to use the placement to improve my skills in developing resources and activities for engagement. I therefore jumped at the opportunity to work with CBA’s engagement team as part of a 20 hour placement for my degree. I’ve been interested in Archaeology since I was 9 or 10 participating in my fair share of YAC activities as a child. My name’s Amelie, I’m 22, from Cheshire and I am masters student, and studying Archaeology and Heritage Practice at the University of Chester. Amelie tells us a about her recent placement with our team. We have recently started collaborating with the University of Chester History and Archaeology Department to support their latest cohort of MA students. ![]() Here at the Council for British Archaeology (of which YAC is a part) we really enjoy supporting placement students to gain experience working in archaeology and heritage organisations. ![]() Placement Opportunity with the CBA: Amelie

To address this gap as well as to meet the needs of PC clinicians and families who are on the front lines with few mental health resources available, in 2007, the Center for the Advancement of Children’s Mental Health at Columbia University and the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center at the University of Toronto joined forces with the New York Forum for Child Health, the New York District II Chapter 3 of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the Resource for Advancing Children’s Health (REACH) Institute along with leading experts across the United States and Canada to address the need for a synthesis of knowledge in this area. In view of the shortage of mental health clinicians, the barriers to children’s access to mental health professionals, the well-documented need for PC clinicians to learn how to manage this condition, the increasing evidence base that is available to guide clinical practice, the increased selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor–prescribing rates in pediatric PC, 9, 10 and new evidence that a multifaceted approach with mental health consultation may improve the management of depression in PC settings, 8, 10, – 16 guidance for the identification and management of depression in adolescents in PC were urgently needed. The practice preparation, identification, assessment, and initial management section of the guidelines include recommendations for (1) the preparation of the PC practice for improved care of adolescents with depression (2) annual universal screening of youth 12 and over at health maintenance visits (3) the identification of depression in youth who are at high risk (4) systematic assessment procedures by using reliable depression scales, patient and caregiver interviews, and Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition criteria (5) patient and family psychoeducation (6) the establishment of relevant links in the community, and (7) the establishment of a safety plan. The strength of each recommendation and its evidence base are summarized. Guidelines were updated for youth aged 10 to 21 years and correspond to initial phases of adolescent depression management in PC, including the identification of at-risk youth, assessment and diagnosis, and initial management. ![]() iExplorer Free does not stop here and also features Quick Look support for browsing document files or watch video clips without even opening them, straight from your Apple device. The term gross turnover’ and `net turnover’ (or `gross sales’ and `net sales’) are sometimes used to distinguish the sales aggregate before and after deduction of returns and trade discounts”.Ī careful reading of these above mentioned pronouncements will bring to limelight the very crucial in between expression “ …….are effected………by the company/ enterprise”. “The aggregate amount for which sales are effected or services rendered by an enterprise. In the “Guidance Note on Terms Used in Financial Statements” published by the Institute, the expression “Sales Turnover” has been defined as under:. Where excise duty is included in turnover, the corresponding amount should be distinctly shown as a debit item in the profit and loss account.” Adjustments which do not relate to turnover should not be made e.g. The term ‘turnover’ would mean the total sales after deducting therefrom goods returned, price adjustments, trade discount and cancellation of bills for the period of audit, if any. “Total turnover, that is, the aggregate amount for which sales are effected by the company, giving the amount of sales in respect of each class of goods dealt with by the company and indicating the quantities of such sales for each class separately. The term “turnover” is a commercial term and it should be construed in accordance with the method of accounting regularly employed by the company.įurther, the Guide to Company Audit issued by the Institute in the year 1980, while discussing “sales”, stated as follows: In an agency relationship, turnover is the amount of commission earned by the agent and not the aggregate amount for which sales are effected or services are rendered. It may be noted that the “sales effected” would include sale of goods as well as services rendered by the company. Part II of Schedule VI to the Act, however, defines the term “turnover” as the aggregate amount for which sales are effected by the company. The term, “turnover”, has not been defined by the Order. The Statement on the Companies (Auditors’ Report) Order, 2003 issued by the Institute in April 2004, while discussing the term ‘turnover’ in paragraph 23 states `as follows: Part II of Old Schedule VI to the 1956 Act, defined the term “turnover” as the aggregate amount for which sales are effected by the company. Let’s peruse the definition contained in these frameworks one by one. Meaning of Turnover – pre Companies Act, 2013:īefore the enactment of the Companies Act, 2013, the expression turnover was used to be defined in Old Schedule VI, and also used to be discussed in Guide to Company Audit issued by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in the year 1980, Guidance Note on Terms Used in Financial Statements, and Statement on the Companies (Auditors’ Report) Order, 2003. The present article discusses the issue in detail in the succeeding paragraphs.ġ. This definition has used the words “aggregate value of the realisation of amount made” instead of “aggregate value of the realisation of amount made or to be made” and thus has placed a question as to whether such a definition is a trajectory towards cash basis of accounting. Section 2(91) of the Companies Act, 2013 defines “turnover” to mean the aggregate value of the realisation of amount made from the sale, supply or distribution of goods or on account of services rendered, or both, by the company during a financial year. ![]() Generally speaking, you can expect the complicated plan to fail whenever it's put into action. Also, including such a plan onscreen and then executing it to perfection would mean that the creator just put a spoiler for their story in the work itself. The more complicated a plan is, the more places there are that a plan can fail, and thus more opportunities for drama. The reasons for this can be summed up by the classic KISS design principle: "Keep It Simple, Stupid". If a work's creator ever shows a character with a Complexity Addiction making a plan, the Unspoken Plan Guarantee assures that this plan is not going to work. It's Funny, or it's Dramatic, or it's Cool that's all that matters. Maybe they consider their enemies worthy opponents and that only an equally worthy plan should be used to defeat them. Maybe simple plans aren't as amusing or as evil or are just too boring for them. ![]() Maybe they're really smart and want people to see how smart they are. But for whatever reason, the character can't help but make an overdone, overblown plan for even the most simple and straightforward of tasks. These plans might have glaring flaws to everyone else, such as relying entirely on luck or unpredictable factors, missing a few steps in the plan, not really thinking through the plan or being unable to fill in the gaps when asked about it, and maybe even grabbing the Idiot Ball with how complex they're making this whole thing out to be. They simply can't help themselves from coming up with schemes that are far more complicated than they need to be. So why didn't they come up with a simpler plan?īecause the character has a Complexity Addiction. ![]() The Rani (about the Master), Doctor Who, " The Mark of the Rani"Ī character comes up with a ridiculously elaborate plot that is so meticulously planned out that it can't possibly fail. ![]() ![]() The Windows Hibernate power state cuts all power to the PC or laptop, but it also uses a save state to resume all open windows and services upon power-up. It is generally best to shut down the PC or laptop for more extended periods and start fresh. Hibernation is the right choice if you plan to leave the PC or laptop off for a longer duration during the day. The purpose of going from Sleep Mode to Hibernate Mode is to preserve battery life, but for a Desktop PC, it gets used to save energy. This process means that whenever you plug it back in, you’ll be able to pick up where you left off.ĭesktop PCs don’t have a battery option like laptops, so Hibernate is often activated after a specific sleep time. If you’re using a laptop and your battery is close to dying, your device’s last waking state gets saved to disk, usually through the Hibernate power scheme. It offers a faster launch than a restart, so you can get back to using it in no time. So, if you need to rush out of your office and grab a quick bite, Sleep Mode can be useful. It’s best to use it if you won’t be needing your device for a short period. Windows 10 (and XP, 7, 8, and 8.1) set sleep time activation by default, but you can change the setting or disable sleep mode altogether. Your PC goes into sleep mode automatically to save power. It’s nothing more than just a Standby mode. A startup is usually very fast, and it doesn’t take more than a second or two to bring everything back. When you come back and move or click the mouse or press a key like the Spacebar, the previous state is how you left it. All of your apps and windows stay open, and your device uses its random-access memory (RAM) to preserve the PC’s active state. Sleep mode happens after you haven’t used your PC for a certain amount of time, but the user can also choose it manually. This article explains the difference between Sleep and Hibernate to help you determine which option is best for your needs under specific circumstances. Understanding the differences helps your PC or laptop save power effectively and save time you’d otherwise spend waiting for your device to start. Regardless of benefits, Sleep and Hibernate come with both pros and cons. The two options also preserve your open windows and services, which then get reloaded upon bootup. Both power features are advantageous if you have a laptop, mostly since they ensure longer battery life without completely shutting the PC down. The most widely used options are Sleep and Hibernate. Aside from turning off your PC, Windows gives you a couple of other options to preserve power. ![]() ![]() Philips leverages advanced technology and deep clinical and consumer insights to deliver integrated solutions. As stated, the main factor for the capture of biosimilars is the reduction of costs in relation to the biological products of origin. Successful antibody production depends upon careful planning and implementation with respect to several important steps and considerations: Synthesizing or purifying the target antigen (e.g., peptide or hapten) Conjugating the antigen and carrier protein to create the immunogen. They immunised against ovine red blood cells and after growing the hybridoma cells in culture with these cells, they identified multiple areas of haemolysis – suggesting the antibodies produced had indeed attacked the blood cells. Therefore, the production segment of these biopharmaceuticals undoubtedly has a major impact on innovative companies, paving the way for pharmaceutical companies in the industry to prosper. As a class, mAbs offer the potential for effective treatments that are well tolerated by patients. Milstein and Köhler hypothesized that by immunizing hosts with a specific antigen, and fusing host B-cells with myeloma cells, they would create an immortal hybridoma cell line with the ability to secrete antibodies of a known specificity. Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) can be created in the lab by recombinant DNA technology to mimic those antibodies naturally generated by the immune system. The pair devised the idea of the hybridoma cell – an antibody-producing B-cell fused with an immortal myeloma cell. In a bid to develop a similar long-lasting cell that secreted antibodies of a known specificity, he began to work alongside Gorges Köhler. |
